Rings and Modules Seminar

Abstract: A module M is distributive if its lattice of submodules (equivalently, lattice of congruences) is distributive. A ring R is left (right) distributive if it is so as a left (right) module over itself. Distributive modules and rings were introduced by W. Stephenson in 1972. I will describe some of the basic properties of distributive modules and rings, outline some of the areas of research interest, and in particular discuss some of the problems that I am investigating with Jan Trlifaj of Charles University.
