Abstract:
Encryption is one of the foundational tasks of cryptography. The present schema have been developed under practical necessities; in using key-indexed families of invertible functions to efficiently conceal and recover binary information. Of the several encryption models this talk has special focus on symmetric-key block ciphers. Our example, the Data Encryption Standard (DES), while dated, is nevertheless of importance and interest in the design principles of symmetric-key block ciphers. |
