Hi, and welcome!

My name is Ty, and I am a PIMS Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Manitoba, working with Adam Clay. In January 2020, I will be starting a postdoc at the Université du Québec à Montréal with Steve Boyer and Olivier Collin.

My research interests are in mapping class groups, ordered groups, and low-dimensional topology. See my maths page for more.

I completed my undergraduate in Mathematical Physics and Pure Mathematics from the University of Melbourne in 2010. I completed my MMath in 2012, and my PhD in 2017 in the Department of Pure Mathematics at the University of Waterloo under the supervision of David McKinnon and Doug Park.

Here is my CV, my research statement, and my teaching statement.

Here is an interview I did with PIMS from February 2019.
